Our client, a leading manufacturer of light building products for residential, commercial and institutional construction and remodeling, is looking for a Senior Network Engineer / Principal Architect to install, run, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair network infrastructure. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic network engineers with the skills needed to provide a stable production environment. We are seeking candidates that understand the importance of maintaining availability and stability within the production environment and are willing to use and implement processes and procedures that will prevent impact to the business while work is being performed. We are also seeking individuals with strong customer service skills that are able to interact with customers on a daily basis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years in a large enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills; good organizational and project management skills; sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented
  • Innate understanding of the value of establishing and living efficient processes
  • Ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies

Position-specific/Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCIE/CCNP certification or significant progress in obtaining the certification strongly preferred
  • Strong background with Cisco / Meraki / Aruba wireless solutions
  • Knowledge of network benchmarking and network performance validation
  • Strong TCP/IP knowledge
  • Exposure with Cisco Catalyst / Nexus platform, Cisco ASA/FWSM
  • Expert knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Knowledge of high availability features, protocols, and best practices (HSRP, GLBP, VPC, etc.)
  • Experience with Cisco WSA or other Proxy/Filter platform
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE
  • Knowledge of VPN and DMVPN
  • MPLS knowledge
  • Extensive experience with DNS/BIND
  • Experience in remote troubleshooting and configuration
  • Experience in large data center environments
  • Experience with streaming audio and video
  • Experience with traffic prioritization over slow remote links
  • Conduct performance analysis and tuning for network infrastructure
  • Works with minimal supervision to build and maintain infrastructure systems that support corporate platforms, environments, and technologies
  • Ensures IT risks (including security, privacy, compliance, business continuity, etc.) are identified, documented, and appropriately managed
  • Reviews progress on solutions, goals, milestones, metrics and project plans on a regular basis with the solution team and manager
  • Accepts feedback and supports team members to further their efforts
  • Provides necessary project, system, and technical documentation in a timely manner
  • Work closely with architects in designing enterprise class solutions based on the principles of redundancy, security, and recoverability
