Our client is looking for highly skilled Java developers to work on critical enterprise and web applications, and infrastructure. As a Principal Developer you will be expected to work on high-level design problems, low-level design and coding issues and everything in between, often in the same day. Your ability to think on your feet, leverage your years of experience and make data-based decisions will help you and the teams you work with make the best applications possible. Candidates should have 6 years or more professional development experience and at least a Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience. You will work closely with various development teams who all share a common goal: building highly reliable systems that can handle huge loads without breaking a sweat. Principal Developer is our client’s Staff Engineer position. They are located in Salt Lake City, UT, and offer competitive compensation and a full benefits package.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have:
6+ years of software development experience
1+ years in a leadership or staff engineer role
Strong skills in Java SE 5.0 or greater or Java EE 5.0 or greater
Strong database and SQL experience, preferably with Oracle 10g or later
Proficiency in Object Oriented design and programming
Experience with Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools such as Hibernate
Experience in mentoring Java Developers in design and/or development
Experience building and designing asynchronous, message driven systems with JMS
Expertise with enterprise grade build, continuous integration and artifact management systems, e.g. Maven, Hudson and Nexus
XML and related technologies such as XSD, JAXB, XSLT, etc
Experience building web services, especially using the REST style
Use of web container technologies such as Tomcat
Proficiency testing the software you and your team builds, including unit tests using JUnit/TestNG and mocking,
integration testing, regression testing and state coverage testing
Strong Linux/Unix skills
Excellent communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or similar technical field or equivalent experience

Nice to have:
Experience using web presentation technologies such as JSP, JSF, Ajax, Jamon, Velocity, or FreeMarker
Experience with Flex
Proficiency with IDE-based development, especially in Eclipse

Telecommunications Engineer

Duties:

• Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots and repairs enterprise-class VoIP telecommunications equipment, systems and applications.
• Recommends alterations and upgrades to systems, services and applications to improve the quality and supportability of the voice systems and products.
• Directly impacts the reliability standards of the voice systems by following industry-standard best practices and procedures.
• Works closely with the business teams to support customer-facing telephony applications and telecom related solutions equipment.
• Develop long-term voice solutions that address current and future business needs.
• Works with carriers and vendors to order, install, troubleshoot and maintain carrier circuits, telecom applications and equipment.
• Will require occasional off hours for systems upgrades and installations and will be on-call as needed to support 24×7 production systems.

Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to the Telecommunications Manager

Qualifications: Required Experience and Skills:
• Must have Cisco voice or networking experience.
• Must have Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of voice systems experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field is required.
• Experience with advanced networking, telephony concepts, practices, applications and equipment highly preferred.
• Experience in supporting telecommunications systems in a VoIP environment with advanced call routing and call flow expertise is highly preferred.
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco UCCE in an Enterprise environment highly preferred.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CNP, and CCVP are a plus.
• Cisco voice gateway router IOS support and QOS experience preferred.
• Experience with MS Server hardware and OS support preferred.
• Must possess excellent trouble-shooting skills and demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations in order to effectively respond to emergencies.
• Must have excellent requirements gathering and analysis skills along with the ability to develop and update detailed technical documentation.
